ceatsep16The International Platform for Cooperation and Migration (IPCM) has collaborated in staging the international seminar "Structural challenges to the welfare state: new challenges for the model of workers' social protection" (read programme) held in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) from 30 September to 2 October, 2016. This seminar was organized by the Spanish Centre for Workers' Affairs (CEAT in its Spanish acronym), with funding from the European Union and the European Centre for Workers' Questions (EZA).

During the seminar a number of different speakers from Slovakia, Portugal and Spain provided different views on the welfare state, workers' social protection as a guarantee of decent jobs, new challenges for the labour market, and the influence of migrant workers or the conditions of employability for young people, within the framework of the 2020 strategy.
