October 5, 2025: Hope on the World Day of Migrants and Refugees.
The Church has celebrated the World Day of Migrants and Refugees since 1914, during the First World War. IPCM joins this day and calls for a profound commitment, based on reflection and hope, to build a world at peace.
This year is the 111th World Day of Migrants and Refugees. This year's theme is: "Migrants, missionaries of hope."
In his message, Pope Leo XIV describes the current situation: "The current global context is sadly marked by wars, violence, injustice, and extreme weather events, which force millions of people to leave their homelands in search of refuge elsewhere."
Therefore, the Pope notes: "This connection between migration and hope is clearly manifested in many of the migratory experiences of our time."
