MILAN: THE IPCM AT THE FOOD EXPO
"Food is the main problem of humanity," said the Dutchman, Bartho Pronk, president of the European Centre for Workers' Questions (EZA), at the seminar organised by Feder.Agri, member of the IPCM, on 2 and 3 October. Feder.Agri's president, Alfonso Luzzi, explained that this meeting was being held at the Expo because it was focussed on food and agriculture, and emphasized that the encyclical Laudato Si' (Praise be to You) was the new point of reference for discussing development and sustainable economy.
MIILAN: THE IPCM , ATTENTIVE TO THE REFUGEE CRISIS
Meeting in Milan, the IPCM leaders agreed to pay priority attention to the crisis of refugees and immigrants from the Middle East, as well as coordinate the work of NGOs that make up the platform. The meeting was attended by its president, Rafael Rodriguez-Ponga; its vice-presidents, Maria Reina Martin and Piergiorgio Sciacqua; the treasurer, Josep Calvó; and the head of the technical office, Maribel Alañón.
THE MEDITERRANEAN: THE IPCM CALLS FOR JOINT RESPONSIBILITY AND SPECIAL ATTENTION FOR REFUGEES
In view of the migration tragedy taking place in the Mediterranean and Middle East, the Board of the International Platform for Cooperation and Migration (IPCM), at its meeting in Madrid, has agreed the following:
1. The International Platform for Cooperation and Migration (IPCM) is deeply concerned by the illegal migration occurring in the Mediterranean Sea area over the recent months.
MADRID: FORMAL MEETING OF THE IPCM BOARD
On Friday 29 May the meeting of the Board of the International Platform for Cooperation and Migration (IPCM) was held in Madrid. Among the topics discussed were the progress and current advances in the various projects already implemented and the plans for the future. It was agreed to lay the groundwork for an in-depth reflection upon the tragedy of immigration in the Mediterranean. The meeting was attended by Rafael Rodriguez-Ponga, President; Maria Reina Martín, Vice President; Jesús Casado, Secretary; Josep Calvo, Treasurer; Francisco Dominguez, Vice Treasurer; and Maribel Alañón and Chindasvinto Moreno from the Technical Secretariat of the IPCM.
AMARANTE: THE IPCM AT THE INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR "VOCATIONAL TRAINING: A CONTRIBUTION TO THE LABOUR MARKET IN THE SPHERE OF EUROPEAN SOCIAL DIALOGUE"
The International Platform for Cooperation and Migration (IPCM) was the collaborating body running the International Seminar "Vocational training: a contribution to the labour market in the field of European social dialogue", held in Amarante (Portugal) from 8th to 10th May, 2015. The seminar was organised by the Associação para a Formação, Investigação e Desenvolvimento Social dos Trabalhadores (FIDESTRA) with funding from the European Union and the European Centre for Workers' Questions (EZA).
