IPCM Declaration. The IPCM expresses its concern about the current situation: EU, Ukraine, Israel.
The International Platform for Cooperation and Migration (IPCM), meeting in Trento, would like to state the following:
1. We insist on the need to advance the common European policy on immigration. The European Union can answer many questions to overcome national visions.
2. We highlight the ethical aspects in the consideration of migrations, within the framework of the Cathiolic social teaching.
3. We remain attentive to the situation of the war in Ukraine, especially the refugees. We show our solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
4. We express our deep concern about the Middle East. We condemn the terrorist attack against Israel. We show our solidarity with the Israeli people and with the Palestinian people.
5. We show our pain for the dramatic situation of so many Africans who emigrate by sea, irregularly, from Africa to Europe.
6. We are convinced of the usefulness of development cooperation. Therefore, more aid to developing countries is necessary.
7. We value the important role of educational and academic entities, to achieve the best coexistence between people, towns and nations.
8. We show our concern about the increase in xenophobic and racist views.
9. We defend democracy and individual freedoms. Its absence is a cause of migratory movements.
10. We reiterate the commitment of the IPCM, its organizations and its management team to continue working for the common good.
