Trento (Italy): Europe is increasingly diverse due to migration

The immigration situation in Europe was the focus of an international seminar, organized by the “Trentini nel Mondo” association. The seminar was held on Mount Bondone, near the city of Trento (Italy).

Delegates, researchers and professors from several countries participated: Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Albania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium. The seminar had a high academic level, thanks to the interventions of several university professors. These researchers analyzed the diversity existing in each country and the legal, cultural, labor, and economic issues.

Piergiorgio Sciacqua, co-president of EZA and vice-president of IPCM, highlighted the importance of labor rights and ethical issues. Armando Maistri, president of “Trentini nel Mondo” highlighted the experience of the Trento region in understanding migration phenomena. Rafael Rodríguez-Ponga, president of IPCM and rector of the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU, stressed the importance of educational institutions.

This meeting was organized by Trentini nel Mondo and UNAIE, with support from EZA, with funding from the European Union and with the participation of IPCM.

The main day ended with a concert of traditional music from the Trentino region, by the Abies Alba group.
