BARCELONA: IPCM in the Sagrada Familia basilica
The participants in the Fidestra/IPCM/EZA weekly visited the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia and attended the international mass on Saturday, February 1.
It is, without a doubt, the most visited monument in Barcelona, as it is the best known in the world. It is designed by the architect Antonio Gaudí.
At the mass, Maribel Alañón read a prayer “for those attending the seminar organized by Fidestra, EZA and the IPCM, so that their reflections and debates benefit the good of all the workers of the world.”
Maria Reina Martin, Vittorino Rodaro and several others presented the offerings at the altar. Patrick Pennickx and Rafael R. Ponga read the readings. The ceremony had a deep spiritual meaning.
The Sagrada Familia annually allocates a Social Fund with a significant amount of money for various projects. Connecting with the founders of the basilica, with the spirit of Gaudí and with the social doctrine of the Church, the Board of Trustees of the Sagrada Familia promotes the Social Action Fund, aimed at socially vulnerable groups of the Archdiocese of Barcelona. The Fund finances various types of activities. Attention to immigrants is, precisely, one of its priorities.
From January 30 to February 2, the European seminar on immigration and work took place in Barcelona. It brought together experts from fifteen countries. It was organized by the Portuguese association Fidestra, with the support of EZA, the European Commission, IPCM and UAO CEU.
